Man the Balloon is about a small town in the middle of nowhere where people are spontaneously combusting. That’s right, they’re blowing up. First, the butcher’s wife explodes into flames leaving only her stumpy legs smoking in the town square. The town is beginning to lose hope, their sanity and ultimately their population. A mysterious preacher arrives in town with a promise that he can save them all. Hilarious situations begin to transpire. Will the preacher be able to save the town? Will people stop blowing up? Will the town’s policeman get his daily serving of donuts? Or does Elliot the balloonist have the answer?
Man the Balloon is a satirical, absurdly comic parable of an insecure, small-minded society bent on self-destruction.
