St Margaret's Virtual Tour - Elizabeth Woodyatt Library
The Elizabeth Woodyatt Library
The Elizabeth Woodyatt Library was opened in 1989 and is the hub of resource-based learning in the school. Named after a past Principal of St Margaret’s, it houses in excess of 22,000 physical resources on site as well as providing access to 100,000 items via our online library system. To accommodate the differing needs of staff and students, the Library is divided into separate areas such as the classroom and private study areas for senior students, a reading area and a computer nook housing touch-screen computers.
Also contained within the Elizabeth Woodyatt Library is the area known as cyberspace. With seating for 28 students, campus to campus video conferencing facilities, an electronic whiteboard and data projector, this multi-purpose classroom is in high demand.
The Library is open at 8 am and closes at 5 pm every day, making it an ideal place for students to begin their homework tasks before being collected from school. Students are able to also access teachers in the Maths and English areas after school from 3 pm to 4 pm for additional homework help. It is also open at certain times during school holidays for students who wish to study and use the resources.
