SMBG offers a range of merit and means-tested scholarships
At St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, we believe in providing a holistic education, delivered through our 4 As: Academics, Athleticism, Artistry, and Adventure. To align with this approach, we have designed our scholarship program to reflect our 4 As, enabling us to award talented individuals across a range of disciplines.
Maximise your child’s potential with a St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar General Excellence Means-Tested Scholarship
Expressions of interest for Year 8-11 General Excellence Means-Tested Scholarships in 2027 are now open.
Thanks to a generous bequest, St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar can offer General Excellence Scholarships for students entering Years 8 to 11, in line with the wishes of the donor.
General Excellence Scholarships support students of exemplary work ethic and good character who would not otherwise be able to attend St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar without the benefit of a scholarship.
These scholarships are for students who demonstrate:
- the ability to make a positive and significant contribution to the life of the School
- exceptional ability or promise in one or more of our 4 As (Academics, Athleticism, Artistry, and Adventure)
- an exemplary work ethic
- strong academic potential
- they would not otherwise be able to attend the School without the financial support of a scholarship as evidenced by completing our means-tested financial assessment
These scholarships are available for new students, with the remission amount varying to cover partial tuition fees based on family need, the applicant, and the availability of scholarships each year.
Final submissions will close on 1 October 2026. We recommend applying as soon as possible, as expressions of interest will be considered on an ongoing basis until this date.
