Our School
Our school has a growing student body of over 960 students, provides all pupils with a single, seamless educational journey through Early Learning, Junior School, Middle Years to the completion of VCE in a Senior College setting. Through our Diamond Education Model, the school offers a co-educational learning environment in ELC and Junior School (primary school), before separating students at the right physical and emotional time in their growth and development to a single-gender education on separate campuses, dedicated to catering to the learning and wellbeing needs of our Senior Girls and Boys (secondary school).
Drawing on close to a century of operation as well as validated research, these separate learning environments enable the best of both worlds, allowing girls and boys to thrive in safe learning zones, freeing students from traditional gender stereotypes.
While the School has four distinct campuses ELC, Junior School, Senior Girls and Senior Boys, students and families are connected through a range of programs and events that create belonging and build community.
We provide a diverse, inspiring environment in which young people of all abilities can develop their interests and extend their learning. Central to our ethos of growing great people is our focus on character development in the belief that an education of the head that neglects an education of the heart is no education at all!
The St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar framework stresses participation and the quest for excellence in the 4 As of Academics, Athleticism, Artistry and Adventure as an antidote to schools that preach just the learning of the ABC’s and focus on ATAR’s.
