Art & Technology Exhibition
The pop-up Art and Technology Exhibition displayed an extensive variety of work from all year levels at Berwick Grammar School. The artworks displayed were of an exceptional standard and represented a wide variety of skills from a range of individuals in many different subjects.
The display had several names constantly showing up. Hugo Gaulke, Riley Hawke, Yiorgos Milas, Caiden Hawke, River Dixon and myself, all had three or more works displayed. The Year 7 to 9 students had some very exceptional projects such as the relief prints, self-portraits, Surrealist inspired digital composites, CNC etched remote controlled trucks and numerous 3D printed objects. My personal favourite was Sam Templar’s relief print, Keyhole to Another World from Year 7 Art and Design.
There was also VCE works in the exhibition. River and I had six of our Visual Communication Design (VCD) works displayed which we worked on throughout Unit 1 and 2 this year. These, along with the final Year 12 VCD works made up the VCE Visual Communication Design section of the exhibition. Many beautiful VCE Product Design and Technology (PDT) works were pieces of furniture scattered throughout the exhibition.
The exhibition consisted of many memorable works. Daniel Peart’s Blackwood and Resin table was a highlight of many to visit the exhibition and is what was first seen when entering the building. The visitors made their way through the exhibition, browsing the displayed artworks and sitting down to watch the VCE media films while snacking on the food available. The experience was enjoyable for many and reflected the many talents of students of Art and Design at Berwick Grammar School.
