BGS Golfer excel at Golf Championships
On Monday 18 March our top 4 BGS golfers made the trip to Waverley Golf Club in Rowville to compete in the SSAV Independent Schools Victoria Golf Championships. It was an 18 hole stroke event which saw students from six different Independent Schools Associations invited to take part. In tough conditions Brodie Mack of Year 9 and Jack Scarborough of Year 8 tied on 90 shots each which saw Jack get third place for his age group on a count back, but Brodie’s seven pars in his first nine holes meant he still had a memorable day.
Trent Simpson also came in third place for the open age group and Hugo Gaulke was very consistent across the day playing very close to his handicap for the 18 holes. This tournament should prove to be great preparation for the SIS Golf tournament to be held in Term 4 where our team narrowly missed a prize last year. A great day was had by all and we look forward to an even stronger showing at this tournament in 2020.
