BGS Running Club
Ms Fiona Foreman and I are keen runners. We have learnt that you don’t have to be good at this sport to reap huge benefits for yourself physically and mentally. We have set ourselves the goal of running the New York City Marathon in 2020. To coincide with this goal, we have decided to spread the joy of running to the BGS community.
We will be having two running sessions per week before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.00 am to 8.00 am for the remainder of Term Four. The runs will be an interval session and a longer run around the Officer precinct. These sessions will help boys develop a higher level of aerobic fitness and a sense of belonging. Running has huge benefits for both your physical and mental health. There is no minimum requirement for fitness, even if you are yet to be able to run long distances, we will structure the program so that everyone is challenged. Lots of loop backs and high fives will be had every morning, there is no better way to start your day.
In addition to our school training sessions Ms Foreman and I regularly run Saturday Parkrun, myself at Pakenham and Ms Foreman at Marriott Waters, we would love it if the boys joined us. All they need to do is sign up to parkrun through the parkrun website and get themselves there at 7:45 am for an 8.00 am start.
If you want to participate, complete the e-consent and join us outside the BGS Gym at 7.00 am.
