Food Tech the Hub of Activities

The Food Technology Centre was a hub of activity on Open Day. In the industrial kitchen there were recipe demonstrations from very talented chefs and students who all have strong connections with St Margaret’s School.

Eliza Horne started the day demonstrating a mouth-watering deconstructed lemon meringue with the assistance of Caitlyn Lewis and Zimo Zhu from Year 7, followed by past student Hannah Vincent who produced some beautiful chocolate work. The final demonstration displayed brilliant team work by Meg White, owner of Cooking 4 Kids in Beaconsfield, assisted by students Vanessa Agahi Year 7 and Sophie Barratt Year 3. Their product was a very tasty Moroccan Lamb.

The Food Technology kitchen was just as busy with past student Claudia Morando-Stokoe assisting children on the tours to decorate bright and happy cupcakes. Students were also busy cooking recipes to be photographed by Amy Thompson Year 11 and past student Millie Shone for the 90th Anniversary Cookbook.

Thanks to Cherry Kohli and Neha Hansra Year 12, Alice Vonic, Year 11, Stephanie Bilston, Zara Snelling and Jemmah Nathanielsz Year 10, Madeline Bailey, Catherine Scott, Grace Rogers and Zarli Corless Year 9 and Dimpy Kohli Year 8.

The highlight of the day was seeing staff, along with past and present students working together to showcase all that St Margaret’s has to offer. I am very grateful for their contribution to the day.
