Senior House Cross Country

Monday 1 April saw St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar School come together for the first ever combined sports carnival event, the 2019 House Cross Country. Held at SMS, there was a true carnival atmosphere with much enthusiasm and anticipation for the races, run around the traditional cross country course.

With timing tags fitted and a crowd of support, the Year 7 students lead the way while the Year 12 girls running their final cross country event were the last race on the program. Races were hotly contested but congratulations must go to the following girls who were winners in their respective year levels:

Year 7 – Chloe Liew
Year 8 – Sanuli Rajapaksa
Year 9 – Claudia Eibl
Year 10 – Ashlee Duhau
Year 11 – Jessica Day
Year 12 – Lauren Castricum

The fastest three girls overall were Jessica Day, who took out the Marlee Sherwin Cup in a time of 12:01 minutes, Amy Herbert 12:22 and Claudia Eibl 12:30.

With all points results tallied, congratulations went to the overall winning House, Gipson who held off Cunningham in second place and Campbell in third.
