SMS Preps visit BGS
On Monday 1 May, Prep students from St Margaret’s Junior School visited the senior laboratories, to experience what being a scientist would be like at Berwick Grammar School. This was part of their topic of ‘Change’ within their unit of ‘How the world works’. They were amazed at the wonderful chemical reactions and explosions they witnessed and conducted. In particular, they enjoyed the expanding rubber gloves with dry ice in them! Students were given the opportunity to predict, observe and explain what occurred during the activities. This day provided a useful platform for discussion in their classes upon returning to St Margaret’s. Special thanks must go to Sam, our Laboratory Assistant and the Berwick Grammar Year 12 students who assisted on the day. (Dennis Rodwell, Learning Leader Science)
