Year 12 Destinations
The class of 2016 have commenced the next stage of their educational journey with 62 of the 68 students accepting university courses in a wide variety of fields, with another five students choosing to study at TAFE or an independent tertiary college. Twenty-one students have chosen to study courses in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) including biomedicine and pharmacy, with the next most popular areas of study being arts, humanities and law. Twelve students are following their passion for commerce and business and another 11 are undertaking courses in the health fields including occupational therapy, nursing, emergency health, paramedics and radiation science. Places were accepted at RMIT to study urban and regional planning, architecture and surveying. Students interested in creative arts have commenced courses in music industry, fine arts, visual arts, design and fashion at a range of institutions including the University of Melbourne, Monash University, RMIT and Swinburne University. Monash University was the most preferred university with 26 students accepting courses at its various campuses, followed by the University of Melbourne (10 students). Two students have commenced courses at the University of Tasmania. We would like to congratulate the eight students offered scholarships – two scholarships were valued at $20,000 and another at $32,000. We wish each student every success in her chosen area of study.
