Developing Literacy Skills
As part of our continuing commitment to the development of strong reading and writing skills in our students, Middle School students have been involved in writing workshops with visiting award- winning authors. Students in Year 8 enjoyed working with young adult author Cath Crowley who shared her expertise on the craft of creative writing. The girls then turned their hand to writing their own short stories.
The Year 7 students were excited to meet and work with the author of their class novel The Four Seasons of Lucy McKenzie Kirsty Murray. Kirsty shared the family history, memories and stories that provided the inspiration for the writing of her novel and encouraged the students to consider their own lives as a source of inspiration for their own writing
